Welcome to MY HOME PAGE:)
My name is Jolanta Abramczyk ( pronounced as YOH-lahn-ta UH-bram-CHIK) , but most people call me “Yola” for short . I am the owner and operator of a local business in Westfield , MA known as Yola's Caring Touch Massage . When I thought of a perfect name for my business that would show a nature of my work - the word “caring”came to my mind. I also wanted to make it personal so I simplified the spelling of my name to Jola with "Y "to prevent people from calling me Jola or Jolanta.( Polish J is pronounced as Y in English).
I have graduated with Master Degree in Teaching of Physical Education in Poland and also from 2 year Regional Bible School. I loved teaching in school but my passion for helping kids with poor or dysfunctional myoskeletal alignments , postural problems, led me to a completely new journey. I have taken more classes and started working as “Corrective Gymnastics Teacher”. I would receive a script from a doctor and develop an exercise program for a child according to a nature of a problem(scoliosis, flat feet, kyphotic back or obesity ect) It was an amazing satisfaction to be able to see the positive changes early on in these kids life and eventually they were being discounted from a program since they no longer needed my help. I also worked as a Fitness Instructor in local gym back in Poland and also gained a Personal Trainer Certification later in USA, to be able to assist my clients into a better health. I am passionate about doing my best in educate myself constantly to be one of the best therapist you can find.
When I decided to come to visit my family in USA for summer vacation, I had no idea how much I would fall in love in this country, its culture and its people. Decision about staying permanently was made and shortly after I had become United States Citizen.
I have gone back to College again in USA , first to study English as a Second Language and shortly after I enrolled in Physical Therapy program. Graduated with Honors and with a huge excitement and satisfaction began working in a field and started doing what I always wanted to do- help people to get better and give them hope for a better future. After approximately 8 years of working in Outpatient Physical Therapy and part of it was Home Care , I have began to think of going back to school, this time to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. At that point in my life I had been needing lots of physical therapy and massage myself since I had been injured in more than one car accident and work or sports related injuries. I had discovered that skills of many disciplines , including chiropractor treatments helped me to be able to go back to full time work and enjoy my very active life:). My goal was to give back this “inside out” knowledge to my clients. Pain has taught me great things. Many times we become more compassionate as humans and medical practitioners when we have gone through a lot of pain ourselves. I was once told that I will never be able to run again after I injured my back severely ( herniated my disks and my nerve was pinched ) and I am very happy to say that I was able to go back to running/training in a gym and also start martial arts again (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) I do believe that we can achieve more then we are told by traditional medicine if we are willing to believe in miracles.
I have graduated from The Massage School and opened up my own business providing services mostly in therapeutic, sports and deep tissue massage just to name a few . At the beginning I worked in both fields (Physical Therapy and Massage Therapy), now I mostly work in my Private Clinic.I have taken numerous continued education classes (at least 3 to 4 each and every year) , and also obtained Medical Massage Practitioner Certification and my own NPI ( National Provider Identification number). I gained a greater knowledge in helping people with more complicated problems and dysfunctions while studying Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques with Erik Dalton. I had also become a pioneer in North East Region providing Contemporary and Advanced Cupping Therapy (see more at cuppingtherapy.org) using glass and silicone suctions cups (and more) which is one of the most successful treatments for any stubborn muscle spasms, adhesion, chronic problems and for detoxification of the body. I traveled over a year as a Teacher's Assistant for ICTA ( International Cupping Therapy Association ) to help out teaching numerous seminars in USA.
